Civil Servants resignation Sir Philip Rutnam

The Civil Service is an unusual beast.  It sits in London and acts the  lubricant between changes of government.  Its role is to carry out the wishes of the Government of the day. However, it seems to have lost its way.  Maybe watching too many copies of "Yes Minister".  It would appear that the Civil Service does not like what the present government is trying to do and therefore carrying out a number of schemes to block their progress.  Sir Philip (it wasn’t me gov) Rutnam, who was in charge until he found he couldn’t get his own way, seems to have a number of gang members who are crawling out of the woodwork to try and scupper things so they and the rest of the shambles can retain all of the many perks they have.  Let me remind you it was Rutnam who created the shambles of the Windrush affair when a number of Commonwealth members were sent back to their place of origin because they were thought to be illegal immigrants.  Amber Rudd as Home Secretary had to resign because of his bungling – now it’s payback time.  Somewhat overdue I think.
Priti  Patel, the present Home Secretary, now finds herself in a storm where media and the Civil Servants have drawn knives to try and get rid of her.  There are many other examples across both political parties where Home Secretaries have had arguments and sacked individuals because they fail to tow the line.  The Government are our representatives and they stay in power because we want them to.  We don’t have the same power over the Civil Service.   Is it because Priti is female I wonder?  Good on ya is all I can say. Keep up the fight and Government stand behind her and as usual Media shut up.
So Rutnam needs to put up and shut up and that goes for the other wimps who found it too tough for them.  If you don’t like the heat get out of the kitchen as they say and if you don’t like what the Government says just remember what the title of your job is Civil SERVANT and learn to live up to it
