Home Office is ‘institutionally racist’, said report into Windrush scandal - Lie!

On the 21st Feb 2020 "The Times" had a headline on its online copy stating  "Home Office is ‘institutionally racist’, said report into Windrush scandal" it went on to say

"A report that concluded the Home Office was “institutionally racist” over its “hostile environment” policy towards migrants has been toned down, The Times has been told. The phrase “institutionally racist” was included in an early draft of the report but no longer appears in more recent versions, according to sources familiar with the review"

How can this headline match the story it was attached to?  This headline was a LIE!
This is the technique of the Tabloid press not a supposedly respected newspaper.  Further proof of the statement "Don't let the facts get in the way of the story." This is a deliberate act of stating false information which is trying to make a story out of a non story.  The report in its final form did not have this statement and therefore cannot be put forward as being factually correct.  We all write drafts and edit before publication but the facts and true story, hopefully, will be in the final published copy.
Yet again nobody holding the Press to account. IPSO (Independent Press Standards Organisation) is a joke.

Long Time no hear

Well, it's been a long time since I put my thoughts down on electronic paper but as you get older and wiser you realise that time is running out to try and identify those things that irritate and make this world a less nice place to be part of.  Maybe I can find some nice things to refer to.  My latest obervation is one I have had opinions on for many years - the news media. Leveson has been and gone - no changes of any consequence after all that work.  IPSO is useless and the press contunes to set itself up as the guardians of everything that is good and decent.  The tragic death of Caroline Flack has again shown the tabloid press at its worst. I am not aware of this persons work but I do know that she is a human being with all the feelings that human beings have.  The media cannot stand the idea that someone is succesful.  It really is a British disease, this idea that all succesful people deserve to be knocked down and trampled into the dirt. Ms Flack did not deserve this treatment even if she is famous and the media yet again retreats under the stone that they live under. Help to get this matter revisited by signing the petition
